Located in the scenic French Quarter of New Orleans, Rings of Desire was home base to Master Piercer Elayne Angel, (formerly Binnie) and her knowledgeable, friendly staff, from November of 1993 to March of 2006 following the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Rings of Desire was the first, and only Body Piercing specialty studio located in the historic French Quarter. And, it was the very first Body Art studio to receive state licensing from the Health Department in Louisiana.
Angel personally trained each staff member at Rings of Desire in her techniques and methods. Pat Roig is continuing on the tradition in New Orleans at a new location: NOLA Tattoo, 8120 Hampson St. at the Riverbend, Uptown. (504) 524-6147. Jen has moved to Philadelphia and can be found at Infinite Body Piercing.
The Rings of Desire studio had a truly worldwide reputation for excellence, and expertise, safety and selection. Customers traveled from across the country and around the world (as far as New Zealand!) specifically to visit Rings of Desire to be pierced.
Moving on to the next chapter: Angel
has relocated to Merida, Mexico, in the Yucatan where she was planning to open
a Bed & Breakfast & Piercing venture. She is
currently writing an informative book about body piercing, directed to consumers
of piercing services, and those who deal with them. She also writes the monthly
"Ask Angel" column in Pain
Magazine.
